More Details

The Penticton & District Hospice Society was formed in June 1981. Dr. Jack Chritchley was instrumental in pioneering the program and was the founding chair of the Society. The vision, as defined by its first Board of Directors, was to raise funds to build a free standing hospice in Penticton.

With support from the Medical Foundation a fundraising campaign was undertaken. Generous donations came from Andy Moog, his Foundation and the Penticton community at large.

In June 1998, the vision was realized and the doors to Moog & Friends Hospice House opened. While Interior Health is responsible for much of the day-to-day operations at Hospice House, the Penticton & District Hospice Society provides significant annual funds to support services and programming at Hospice House.
