Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice Care Ottawa (April 30, 2024)

Hospice Care Ottawa (HCO) is a community-based charitable organization whose mission is to accompany and support individuals, and their families, through their end-of-life journey by providing compassionate, high quality care. Hospice programs include day hospice, home support, family support, and residential hospice services. Hospice Care Ottawa delivers these services at three sites: May Court Hospice, Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice and La Maison de l’Est. What You Will Be Doing:

As part of our inaugural Residence Care Team at Maison de l’Est, you will be working with an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals and volunteers providing quality palliative and patient centred care to our hospice residents and their families/caregivers. As a bilingual Registered Practical Nurse your care will be in a primarily Francophone setting supporting a home-like, peaceful and culturally appropriate environment.

The Position and Schedule:

  • All shifts are 8 hours and are fully paid. Full time and part time positions available.

Your Qualifications:

  • Current Registration as an RN with the Ontario College of Nurses
  • Experience in hospice palliative and/or end-of life care
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate a patient-focused approach to care and ability to work with families/caregivers
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English – oral and written

In addition, having the following would be an asset:

  • LEAP Certification (Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care) – or willingness to complete as an employment requirement
