More Details

The Dr. L.A. Miller Centre is the main public rehabilitation hospital for Newfoundland and Labrador.
The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care to assist people disabled by injury or disease to reach and maintain their best possible level of physical, intellectual, psychological and social functioning through therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation.

The patient is the centre of the interdisciplinary team and takes an active role in decision making about his/her program.

Members of the team work with the patient and family to set individualized goals for improvement to ultimately provide people with the skills and tools they need to attain and/or maintain independence.

The interdisciplinary team may include nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language pathologists, psychologists, recreational specialists, dietitians, social workers, prosthetists, and orthotists.

The Miller Centre complex includes Southcott Hall, the present home of the Centre for Nursing Studies, and the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion, a beautiful residence for the veterans and general admission residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.
