Hike for Hospice Palliative Care

The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) created the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care event over 20 years ago to build a national event to raise funds and awareness for local hospice palliative care organizations.

In honour of this anniversary, CHPCA is proud to launch a fresh new look for the Hike for Hospice brand!

Organizations can download the Basic Branding Kit below. Register Your Event to receive the Complete Branding Kit, including all logo versions, customizable posters and placards, and access to easy-to-use Canva Templates for all customizable content.

The Hike for Hospice Palliative Care primarily follows a walk-a-thon format for its events; however, each community puts their individual spin on the day’s activities! Traditionally held on the first Sunday in May each year, the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care inspires Canadians to get involved and to support local organizations that provide access to quality hospice palliative care services.

What is the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care?

A unique national fundraising event across Canada that brings together organizations working in hospice palliative care to raise funds and awareness in their community!

Why host a Hike?

To raise much needed funds for hospice palliative care in Canada, to raise awareness of the many challenges faced in hospice palliative care, and to promote the phenomenal work that all volunteers and professionals in the field perform daily. Funds raised through the Hike ensure that more Canadians receive the palliative care they need. All the funds raised stay in your community.

Who can host a Hike?

Registered charities, non-profit organizations, or government organizations (such as a public health department) that provide programs or services in hospice palliative care that can demonstrate that all proceeds from the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care fundraising event will be used to support these programs and services.

Each Hike for Hospice Palliative Care event is independently organized to benefit local organizations.

CHPCA holds no liability or responsibility for any Hike for Hospice Palliative Care events. All responsibility and liability lie with the organizers of each event.
