Student Position Description

 

Organization: CCTCC (managed by CHPCA)

Position Title: CCTCC Website and Administrative Support

Language Designation: English Essential, bilingual asset

Supervisor: CHPCA Executive Director and/or CCTCC Board chair

Supervises: none

Hours per Week: Up to 37.5 hours per week but will pay hourly.  $20 per hour

 

About the Organization:

The CCTCC is a Canadian Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre which is a not-for-profit NGO currently being managed by CHPCA. The goal of the CCTCC is to work collaboratively with the Canadian clinical research community, Provincial and Federal Government Agencies, and Industry in promoting Canada as an ideal location for performing clinical trials. One of the tools maintained by the CCTCC is the Canadian Clinical Trials Asset Map (CCTAM). This is a unique, robust, searchable, web-based database designed to communicate Canada’s clinical research strengths to all stakeholders. It is an interactive, searchable and visual database of all Canadian clinical research sites and capabilities.

 

Purpose

To provide technical and administrative support for updates to the CCTCC and CCTAM websites, database and associated templates and user manuals. The CCTCC will be enhancing the Canadian Clinical Trials Asset Map (CCTAM) as a Pan-Canadian resource for documenting all planned and ongoing Canadian clinical trials and registries related to COVID-19.  The project is to enhance the CCTAM so that it can also serve as a repository of COVID-19 research assets and as a registry for ongoing COVID-19 studies. In addition, the project will upgrade the asset map so that it can be used more effectively on mobile devices.

 

Scope of Authority and Decision Making

The CCTCC Website and administrative support position functions under the direct supervision of the CHPCA Executive Director.  This position also works under the guidance and priorities of the CCTCC Board chair.  The position is empowered with decision-making authority with respect to the duties and objectives assigned and makes such decisions in consultation with the appropriate supervisor when required.

 

Experience, Education, and Other Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree preferably in a scientific discipline. degree in life sciences such as, MSc or PhD preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Fluency in French is a strong asset and priority will be given to those who are bilingual

Strategic mindset, action-oriented, strong customer-focus, interpersonal.

Strong oral/written communication, attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with Web Designer and CCTAM users to identify and address gaps in CCTAM and improve related materials, process manuals and communication templates.

Pilot test new database and train new users on database use

Identify new assets for inclusion into database through discussions with organization partners and through a comprehensive web search

Ensure that CCTAM remains current by working with existing database users to update information on current database assets

Regularly report to CCTCC board on project progress
