If you’ve been admitted to our hospital, you can request a consultation from one of our Palliative Care Teams at any time. A Palliative Care Consultant will work closely with the health care team on your unit to care for your pain and symptom management needs.

We also provide Inpatient Palliative Care in our hospital for patients who may have been transferred to us from other areas of Lakeridge Health, or directly from the community.

Some families come to us for support with symptom management with the intention of returning home. Others will require end of life care.

At any time, should someone choose to go home or to another destination, we will support that decision and provide assistance needed to help make the transition.

While you are in our care, your personal, cultural and faith values will be respected at all times.

We offer Inpatient Palliative Care in the Supportive Care Unit at our Oshawa site; in the Complex Continuing Care Unit at our Bowmanville site; and in the Medical/Surgical Unit at our Port Perry site.
