The CHPC Nurses Group Awards

Introduction and Purpose

The purpose of the awards is to acknowledge and celebrate hospice palliative care nurses who are/or have been registered nurses and/or nurse practitioners and have made outstanding contributions to Hospice Palliative Care (HPC), HPC nursing, and/or the CHPCNG.

The two awards are: The Lifetime Achievement Award and The Leadership Award. The awards will be offered annually.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is to honour a registered nurse and/or nurse practitioner, who is member of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Nurses Group (CHPCNG) has made outstanding contributions to Hospice Palliative Care (HPC), HPC nursing and the HPC nursing group during the course of their nursing career.

The Leadership Award is to honour a registered nurse and/or nurse practitioner, who is member of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Nurses Group (CHPCNG) who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership through advocacy for high quality and safe hospice palliative care, the generation and application of related knowledge and research, and the establishment of collegial partnerships, and/or contributions to the professional development of others through education, consultation, leadership, and mentorship.

Nomination for the awards will open on January 18th and close on March 15th annually.

A selection committee will review nominees.  The CHPCNG Executive will acknowledge all nominees and inform the award winners.
