The 2020 National Caregiver Day campaign, Every Minute Counts, aims to increase visibility that we all contribute time in different ways that impact the lives of caregivers and the people who rely on them.

The campaign includes 3 key activities:

  1. Caregiver Resource Virtual Expo profiling stakeholders (researchers, health care professionals, NGOs, governments, private sector businesses and community groups) who are contributing time in different ways to advance the universal caregivers’ priorities.
  2. Global time counter collecting minutes pledge by Canadians to support caregivers. Our goal is to collect 100,000 minutes to reinforce Canadian values and belief that caregiving matters.
  3. National conversation engaging others to take a pledge and make their contribution to caregivers count.

Celebrated on the first Tuesday in April, National Caregiver Day is intended to honour Canadian caregivers — the millions of parents, children, siblings, spouses and friends who provide unpaid care to support someone with a diminishing physical ability, a debilitating cognitive condition or a chronic life-limiting illness.
