Rose De Angelis

The 2009 Award of Excellence was presented to Rose De Angelis. Nominated by her peers, Rose was recognized for her years of service as a hospice palliative care clinical nurse, lecturer and is currently and educator at West Island Palliative Care residence.

Her colleagues spoke of Rose’s belief in others and her skill in nurturing those around her.

Her accomplishments are many, among them are:

  • Ms. De Angelis is the past President of the CHPCA Nurses Interest Group and has long been an advocate of continued education and training for nurses
  • She skillfully collaborates across boundaries, bridging and integrating the palliative efforts of community, home and residential careproviders
  • She has been a guest lecturer and presenter at many national and international congresses
  • Ms. De Angelis has dedicated her time and expertise to the ongoing support and  training of hospice palliative care volunteers

Rose turns belief into action. Her colleagues felt if there was one word to describe her it would be “respect” for patients and families. The Award of Excellence recognizes outstanding excellence in the direct care of patients and their families.
